GOOD POINTS: The Daytripper Paternity Satchel is a fantastic bag which has been well thought out and carries some great features. It is made from a good quality weatherproof nylon and feels sturdy enough to outlast more than one child. The subtle colour range and stylish design is certainly appealing to any Dad (or Mum), and on first glance it looks nothing at all like a changing bag.

The bag has a satchel-style flap on the front which is secured shut with strong Velcro fastenings. The main compartment is quite spacious and contains four easy-access mesh pockets for storing nappies and wipes, and two small mesh pockets on the side for housing food pots. There are also two clips just inside the opening onto which dummies can be attached for easy retrieval, and a detachable insulated bottle holder with drawstring top, held in place via a Velcro strip.

Another great feature is the changing mat which is integrated into the front of the bag and accessed via pull-down zips on either side. The mat is large and padded for baby’s comfort during changing time, and has small Velcro tabs to keep it folded when not in use, along with further Velcro fastenings to secure it to the bag. On the rear of the satchel is a zipped pocket which is designed to store soiled clothes and messes, and the interior can be pulled inside-out for easy cleaning using the tabs provided.

There is a second larger insulated bottle pocket with zip fastening on the exterior side of the bag, along with a mesh pocket on the opposite side which has an elasticated top to hold items securely. There is more zippered storage space on the outside flap of the bag, and a further zippered pocket on the rear which is designed specifically for your own personal belongings. This contains an array of pockets and spaces to keep all your essential bits and pieces organised and easily accessible. Another useful feature is a zip on the top of the bag flap which allows the bag to be slotted over luggage handles or similar if travelling.

The strap of the bag is wide and has a great quick-adjust clip on the side which allows you to easily adjust its length as required. The strap has a padded section which sits comfortably over your shoulder, or alternatively it can be hung around the handles of a pushchair or stroller. This section also has an integrated zip-shut pocket with clip which is designed for storing your phone, keys, or money etc, and makes life easier when you need to access them with your hands full!

The BabaBing Paternity Satchel bag has lovely detailing, including chucky tags on all the zips for easy opening and access, and subtle symbols on all the pockets to assist you in organising all baby’s essentials. In our opinion this is a very functional and stylish bag which more than lives up to its purpose.

BAD POINTS: This is a relatively expensive changing bag, but is cheaper than some others of a similar standard, and you definitely get good quality for your money.
