Lascal Buggy Board Maxi
PRODUCT: Lascal Buggy Board Maxi (www.cheekyrascals.co.uk)
DESCRIPTION: A stand-on board with wheels which connects to the back of an existing stroller/pram and is designed to carry small children up to the age of 5 years (max. weight 20kgs).
ASSEMBLY: Very simple to put together, it comes in several pieces with a set of clear instructions on how to assemble. A strap is provided which can be looped around the handlebars at one end and clipped onto the board at the other, to allow it to be hoisted into a resting position off the ground when not in use. The board is easy to clip and unclip from the connecting straps when folding your stroller/pram down.
GOOD POINTS: It is less bulky and expensive than a double buggy and allows a quick and easy solution when your child becomes too tired to walk. From a security point of view your child is safely positioned between you and the stroller/pram, which is ideal for areas where there are crowds or busy roads. The board can be pushed up and down curbs without too much problem.
BAD POINTS: It is important to check that the board is compatible with your pram in terms of design rather than assembly, as some of the bigger prams may not allow enough room, even with the extension kit provided, to stand the child behind the handlebar. Whilst the board is fine for short journeys, it is quite awkward to manoeuvre as the normal walking posture is compromised by the need to lean further forwards to reach the handlebars. It is also easy to stub toes on the wheels and board. The board is quite heavy which, in the resting position, may pull over some of the lighter-weight strollers when empty.
OTHER: From personal experience the aftercare is very good. Whilst still in warranty, one of the bolts from the extender arm fell off and was lost on route which made the board instantly unusable. The customer services advisor was very helpful and efficient, and a new replacement part was received within a couple of days at no extra charge.
