GOOD POINTS: If you're looking for a fun and simple way of teaching school-aged children about the basics of 'science', then this Usborne Look inside book will do just that.
This is quite simply an amazing fact-packed book, which covers a range of science-related subjects in a way that young children will love.
The book has a hardback cover and consists of a number of thick board pages. The topics covered within the book include:
-
Materials
-
Plants and trees
-
Your body
-
Light and sound
-
Forces
-
Earth and space
Each separate topic is displayed across a double page, packed full of easy-to-understand facts explained in simple english, coupled with wonderfully fun and colourful illustrations. What's more, each page has a huge number of flaps to open and explore, with more surprise flaps and facts hidden inside! In addition, there are sliding tabs to explain concepts, a little fold-out booklet on the planets (complete with more secret flaps!), and every page contains simple and practical ideas for experiments that children can try at home.
In our opinion, this is a brilliantly designed and written factual book that is fun, exciting, and perfect for stimulating and entertaining all those enquiring little minds! Once opened, it's hard to put it down!
