Economic think tank The Item Club's recent report stressed urgent need for Great Britain PLC to increase its share of the global export market outside of the Eurozone and award-winning entrepreneur Solvej Biddle is helping to do just that.
Solvej Biddle, CEO and founder of iconic travel brand Content&Calm and Business Owner of the Year 2011 will be exhibiting at the New York Toy Fair to officially launch stateside but has already signed a deal with One Step Ahead – the largest online children's retailer in the US – to stock Content&Calm product.
Solvej has also just completed a major licencing deal with New Jersey-based Kids Preferred for the whole Content&Calm range. Kids Preferred already has a track record of success with great British children's brands such as the Gruffalo, Charlie & Lola, Beatrix Potter and the Hungry Caterpillar.
Flying the flag for British-designed goods, Solvej received a great reception in the US. Buyers loved Solvej's story including her journey from city career to product designer and manufacturer and her time on Dragons' Den.
Content&Calm products are currently sold in 16 regions worldwide and in a range of household name stores (Sainsbury's, British Airways, Mothercare, John Lewis, Boots, Tesco) as well as a host of independent retailers. Flagship product TrayKit currently sells one every five minutes.
