Tips on Caring For Children's Sensitive SkinE45 Junior logo

  • When your child has a bath, make sure that the water is warm, not hot, because hot water dries the skin out.
  • Bathing with a bath moisturiser specially designed for sensitive skin like E45 Junior Foaming Bath Milk, is one of the most effective ways to hydrate the skin.
  • Avoid bathing with normal bubble baths, soap or any perfumed products, because these can dry out and irritate the skin.
  • Keep a soap substitute like E45 Junior Hand & Body Wash by the sink so your child doesn't haveE45 Junior to use soap when they wash their hands.
  • Buy products that are free from soap, perfume and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and look for ones that are clinically proven to moisturise skin.
  • When you use a new product on your child's skin, perform a patch test first to make sure they aren't allergic to it.
  • In the winter months, try and dress your child in clothes that are 100% cotton because synthetic fabrics can irritate the skin.
  • If your child is likely to come in to contact with synthetic materials, it's worth applying an extra layer of moisturiser like E45 Junior Moisturising Lotion, to help protect their skin.
  • Cold winter wind can make your child's lips sore and cracked so make sure they use a lip balm to soothe the skin and keep dry lips at bay.
  • Protect your child's skin against drying out by regularly applying a moisturiser that is specially designed for sensitive skin - Dry skin is itchy and moisturising it is the first step to addressing this problem.
