DESCRIPTION: A solid ended cot bed which converts into a junior bed. Features include a one-handed dropside, safety teething rails and a choice of three mattress heights. The cot bed is available in three colours: Walnut, Cream or White & Oak. Mattress is not included. The Hogarth Cot Bed is suitable for use from birth.

The dimensions of the cot bed are as follows:

ASSEMBLY: The cot bed comes flat packed but is very simple to assemble using the detailed and easy-to-follow instructions provided (this is best done by two people). All the required nuts and bolts are included, although you will need to obtain an Allen key and Phillips screwdriver. The cot bed comes in five separate parts: the head and foot panels, two cot rails (one of which is a dropside) and the base. It has a choice of three mattress heights, which you must decide on prior to assembly. When you are ready to turn the cot bed into a junior bed, you will need to dismantle the cot and remove the side rails and bottom section of the bed foot end (which comes in two parts).

Please note that Cosatto provide a 'Home Delivery and Assembly' service (offered to UK mainland only) for a cost of £100 + VAT for between 1-4 pieces, delivered and assembled.

GOOD POINTS: The Hogarth Cot Bed is one in a fully coordinated range of lovely nursery furniture, and certainly provides excellent quality for money. It has a very sturdy chunky feel with a wonderful veneer finish. It is very easy to assemble (see above) and the base can be altered to three different heights to suit the age and capabilities of your child (it is recommended that the lowest base position is used as soon as your child can sit up).

The generous dimensions of the cot bed provide plenty of room for your child from birth, which we found promoted a restful night's sleep for our toddler. In addition, one of the rails of the cot is a dropside which is very easy to operate one-handed and allows you easy access to your child without straining your back when reaching in. Furthermore, each of the rails has a plastic covering over the top which provides a safe surface for teething children as well as preventing damage to the wood.

The great feature of this cot is that as your child grows and develops it can be easily turned into a convenient and attractive first junior bed, providing them with a more independent but no less snug sleeping environment.

In our opinion, this is a beautifully designed cot bed which is solid and spacious enough to accommodate your child for a good number of years, and will made a wonderful addition to any new nursery or bedroom. Due to the high quality of the build, this is a cot that will certainly last more than one child.

BAD POINTS: As with most new cots you will need to purchase the mattress separately. The cot also needs to be fully dismantled each time you need to change the position of the mattress.
